11x14 Deardorff Commercial Camera and Stand

Description: Please call me to discuss the details before making your purchase. What I present to you today is an 11 x 14 Deardorff commercial camera and a Deardorff stand. For your viewing pleasure you'll find approximately 50 detailed photographs of this incredible camera and stand. This camera came to me from Chicago and was probably used in one of the catalog studios that were based in Chicago which provided many of the photographs used in the catalogs of Sears and Roebuck, Montgomery Ward and Penney's to name a few. This camera was well used and was in need of some repair. Due to sitting in a damp basement for many many years much of the metal pieces we're rough due to corrosion. The bellows had been ravaged by the dampness and the mold that was causing them to disintegrate. All metal parts were cleaned as much possible and then coated with a black wrinkle paint that was then baked on for the best adhesion. All the wood was stripped and repaired as needed. The stain that was used is a deep dark cherry called Cordovan. Most of the brass parts and fasteners were cleaned and then a brushed finish was applied. The original bellows that were in poor condition due to age and mold were replaced with new bellows. To somewhat streamline the camera one of the three original bellows and one of the center standards was eliminated. The camera stand is the original Art Deco looking stand for the 8 x 10 portrait camera. After doing some measurements I determined that the eleven by fourteen camera would fit on it perfectly. The stand was repaired as needed and modified to accommodate the extra size of the camera and also the weight. Originally painted in silver Hammertone I felt it drew too much attention away from the camera. In keeping with the original Hammertone look I repainted the entire stand in black Hammertone instead. This is the most complete package that you'll ever find. As you can see in the photographs, besides the camera and the stand there are four lens boards finished to match with one of them being un-drilled and a Packard shutter box. Also, are the four film backs, the 11 x 14 film back with an original Deardorff ground glass, an 8 x 10 film back, a 5 x 7 film back and a 4 x 5 film back.
