Description: NICE copper pirate coins Spanish Empire found by members of our staff years ago in Spain, 1600's. About the size of nickel. These coins were hand hammered, on whichever copper blanks they had on hand, so coins were of various thickness, featured clipped planchets, off center strikes, heavy or slight strikes, splits and cracks and many other defects. Each coin is different. These were left as found, no cleaning was done. You can have fun cleaning these and reveal the designs hidden by over 400 years in the ground. Save as a winter project when you can only treasure hunt inside. We also offer auctions of these same coins in cleaned condition.
