Description: Robert Wilson of Hanley (1789-1801)18th century (circa. 1790s) teapot with accompanying tea caddy, sugar box (larger than a sugar bowl) or tobacco humidor (?). Superior museum quality pieces. Both are in perfect "like new" condition and stand about 4 1/2" tall. Shipping will be $10.95 to any U.S. zipcode ($18.00 foreign). Possibly by David Wilson & Sons (1802-1817)The Victoria & Albert Museum has an example (a damaged covered bowl) with this same floral pattern in their collection. The V&A piece is also marked "WILSON" and they attribute it to Robert's brother: David Wilson & Sons (1802-1817). You can view & compare by searching the V&A collection for "hanley wilson". Robert & David had worked together as potters for 40yrs until Robert's death in 1801 and they both marked their pieces exactly the same "WILSON". So our piece is 1789-1817. We believe our 2-piece set is far superior to the decaying V&A example which was transferred in 1901 from the closed Museum of Practical Geology, Jermyn Street.
