The backstrip is detached with heavy chipping, loss; the front cover is weakly attached; covers have chipping, wear to corners. Pages yellowed with some foxing and minor blemishes. Textblock Good+, externals leaning Fair. There are inscriptions to the front endpaper; there is a faint pencil inscription "Lucretia G. Bruce, Presented by her Husband, E. B. B." Below this, in modern times, someone has re-written the inscription in pencil, presumably for fear the original would be missed or become illegible. I believe this would be Lucretia Gardner Bruce and her husband Edward B. Bruce of Pawtucket, Rhode Island (married 1856). There is also a modern owner name in pen and a couple of seller pencil markings.
