Description: 1866 Bavarian Austrian Campaign Cross Kingdom of Bavaria, Austro-Prussian War - Bayern Feldzugs-Denkzeichen Kreuz 1866. Instituted August 25, 1866, the Bavarian Campaign Medal for Austria 1866 was awarded to soldiers and officers who belonged to the mobile army, to commemorate the 1866 campaign. It is constructed out of a die cast bronze base that has been black burnished. The obverse features a lined Alisee Pattee style cross with a centrally placed crowned Bavarian rampant lion surrounded by an oak leaf wreath that is tied together at the top and bottom. The reverse is the same with the exception of an “1866”, in place of the lion. To the top is an integral loop and bronze ring. It measures 1 7/16 inches wide and tall
