Description: One of a kind mechanical postcard. Otis Hall, a Village gathering place hosted the Otis Hall Fair in 1907. There was an operatic performance "The Goddess of Love" following by dancing from 8-12. This is a souvenir postcard from that event which took place on Feb 27, 28 and Mar 1. The mechanical aspect of this postcard is that the red curtain lifts and there is a photograph of Otis Hall! Amazing. There is a credit note for the photography with initials and (possibly SEH or SCH or FISH, West Barnstable, MA) The postcard reads on the from "Glad you enjoyed the box, nothing new. E.C. 22/2/07. Addressed to Mr. ? Crosby, Dartmouth College, Hanover, New Hampshire, Box 186. Not a divided back postcard. Posted in Centerville MA on Feb 23, 1907. I believe the Crosby name might have some significance as both the Otis and the Crosby families were founding families of Barnstable/West Barnstable and Centerville MA (Cape Cod).
