They reached a point where they slapped original pads & cups on these saxes because their original concept just wasn’t selling as good as they had hoped. The body, neck, serial & patent number still land it under the “padless” era. These are pretty solid horns & this example is one of the nicer ones you’ll see. Serial #27XXX marks it as one of the first lines to be produced & it comes with the original case, which is also in REALLY good shape!
