Description: 1950 CLEVELAND BROWNS (WORLD CHAMPIONS) Rare Sportsfilms, Inc. is the rights owner of this DVD For 1950, the All-American Conference and the NFL merged, and the Browns, champions of the old AAFC for four straight years (1946-1949), became members of the NFL. This rare film, which is missing the beginning titles, is now on DVD and tells the story of the Browns’ 1950 World Championship season! The 38-minute DVD is mostly B & W except for the beginning, and is introduced by narrator and long-time Browns play-by-play broadcaster Bob Neal. However a beautiful COLOR segment introduces the Browns players at training camp on the campus of Bowling Green. Shown in order are: Head Coach Paul Brown, assistant coaches Tim Timmierrio, Blanton Collier, Fritz Heisler and Weeb Ewbank, then Browns players Tony Adamle, Warren Lahr, Chubby Grigg, Cliff Lewis, Lin Houston, Alex Agase, Abe Gibron, Jim Martin, Marion Motley, Emerson Cole, Lou Rymkus, John Kissell, John Sandusky, Mac Speedie, George Young, Lenny Ford, Weldon Humble, Darrell Palmer, Frank Gatski, Harold Herring, Ken Gorgal, Rex Baumgardner, Dub Jones, Ken Carpenter, Dom Moselle and Don Phelps. Browns trainer Leo Murphy is shown helping Tony Adamle and George Young model the new Browns uniforms and helmets for 1950. The rest of the film is B & W and shows highlights from several Browns games from the 1950 season. Most of these are from game coaching films that have been narrated by Neal to make this team promotional film. This is the only copy of this rare NFL film known to exist, and is quite a treat for early Browns fans and NFL historians to watch! Below is the 1950 Cleveland Browns NFL schedule and scores.
