It was minted from 1910 until 1964, excluding certain years. The coin has the same dimensions and composition as the British pre-decimal threepence. 3 pence were equal to one quarter of a shilling, or 1/80th of a pound. The obverse features the first portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Mary Gillick, with the legend "ELIZABETH II DEI GRATIA REGINA F:D:". The reverse features three wheat stalks dividing the date, with the legend "AUSTRALIA THREE PENCE". The edge is plain. Coins issued in 1956 were withdrawn at decimalization in 1966 after ten years in circulation, but have never been formally demonetized and are still legal tender. The coin will be shipped via USPS with tracking within 3 business days after receiving payment. Free standard shipping is included within the USA only. Payment is due within 3 days of the end of the auction.
