The medal is bronze, it is 1 1/2 inch in diameter and in uncirculated condition. The obverse at the top rim reads MIDWAY USA. In the center, there is a scene that has a buffalo, planes, factory and more. Below the scene it reads CENTENNIAL - OF THE STATE OF - KANSAS - 1861-1961. On the reverse it reads OFFICIAL CENTENNIAL COIN - OF - KANSAS - LAND OF FRIENDLY - AND - NEIGHBORLY PEOPLE - 1861 - 1961 and SHAWNEE COUNTY stamped at the bottom.
