Description: First published in May 1964, this is the stated Third Edition published in August, 1964. Authored by Phyllis Schlafly, published by Pere Marquette Press. This is an iconic book by a prolific conservative author of the 1960s - see description below. It came with three pieces of ephemera, which are part of this listing. The book itself is in EXCELLENT CONDITION. There is some light age-related soiling of the covers. Very solidly bound, no interior marks, age-toned pages, the binding is stiff, the book looks unread. 126 pages with a last leaf of a "cut out and mail" order form, no doubt to be used with one of the pieces of the ephemera. They are: 1. The return envelope with the said order form2. A letter from General A.C. Wedemeyer promoting the book, with what I presume is a facsimile signature of Wedemeyer3. A single one-sided advertisement for another Schlafly book, The Gravediggers. The ephemera will be shrink-wrapped pressed against stiff cardboard to help straighten the creases. From Wikipedia on this book: "A Choice Not an Echo is a non-fiction book self-published in 1964 by movement conservative activist Phyllis Schlafly. It was the first of Schlafly's 19 authored texts, and sold 3 million copies, granting her national attention as a conservative activist. Schlafly mainly published this book in support of Arizona Senator Barry Goldwater, hoping to help him triumph in the California primary, thus granting him the ability to be nominated for president. Schlafly's secondary motivation behind the publishing of A Choice Not an Echo was to break control of the "Eastern Establishment" over the Republican Party. In other words, this book served as an exposition of the covert influence that "kingmakers" had on Republican primary nominations." BB8
