Description: Because of the paint and decals, I believe this is a 1987 frame, in the uncommon smallest size: 50cm (seat tube) and 53.5 (top tube). The headset is a Shimano 600, and the front derailleur is a Shimano XT. I find no manufacturer’s name on the square taper bottom bracket. I’m not sure if any of the parts are the original ones, but the XT front derailleur is what is listed as stock for a 1987 model. In any case it’s a frame and fork of legendary quality, in very good overall condition, with what I would call only relatively minor scratches and a few tiny spots of rust. Some of the chrome has worn off the front derailleur cage however. The decals are generally very good, except for the one decal near the top of the seat tube, part of which has worn off. (A replacement for that decal “may” be available, but I’m not certain.) According to the 1987 catalog, this would have originally come with 700c wheels, a triple crankset of the square taper type, and a long cage rear derailleur.
