Description: USSR Currency 100 Ruble Note Series 1991 Cold War Era authentic Soviet Union one hundred ruble note, depicting the father of the Bolshevik Party, and the leader of the October Revolution of 1917, Vladimir Lenin. The banknotes are from the 1991 series, the "Pavlov Reform," and were issued just prior to the collapse of the Soviet Union. They replaced the 1961 Khrushchev era 50 and 100 ruble bills (see my other items) which were declared worthless and withdrawn from circulation. Presented as a means to root out forgeries, ill-gotten-gains, tax cheats and mobsters, the currency reform was, in reality, a revaluation of the ruble. The measures proved to be too little, and too late to save the ruble, and instead became another cause of the dissolution of the USSR. The authentic hand selected banknotes are in Good circulated (used) condition. Conditions sound. Notes: paper solid; no big rips, seps, fold cracks, and no funky aroma. Will have slight edge wear, occasional staple hole, and other signs of use; may show creases and folds; minor surface dirt, notations, and/or small stains; Details clear. Examples are pictured above.
