1998 Serotta Classique Hand Built Reynolds 853 Road Bike Size 57

Description: So this is an excellent bike. I am the second owner of this Serotta Classique bike built up in a bike shop in St Louis in 1998. The original owner had it built for one season of racing events and then hung it up and never touched it again. I purchased it, essentially new old stock in 2020 and have since ridden it in numerous distance road events. I have only had to replace a couple of items from sitting so long, the bottom bracket, break and shifter cables and rear derailleur. All were replaced with period correct, and matching items including a NOS matching groupset bottom bracket. and rear derailleur (like seriously, it's wild they were even available locally). This is like a museum piece of a 1998 Serotta. It is a Classique frame in a size 57, main tubes are all Reynolds 853 with rear stays made from Serotta Colorado tubing stock and a carbon fork. It is built up with a complete Shimano 105 (5500) 9 speed groupset with the yellow 105 logo, oddly perfectly matching the bike frame color. The brifters chosen were Ultegra and they are the only component that shows a significant amount of wear. Even the wheels are built up on 5500 105 hubs with super light Sun Rims. The cockpit is even the original period Cinelli stem and bars, it even has the original bottle cage. The frame has quite a few little rock chips and nicks but is in great shape overall. Just looks healthily ridden. In general it looks great. This bike rides buttery smooth and silent, the freewheel is beautifully smooth and near silent and every single thing works exactly as it should, it's truly like new in terms of how good the performance is. It's a fantastic bike. I am only letting go of it to make room for a new meticulous period correct project bike. I will not include the pedals and honestly I'd like to not include the seat, but if you want the seat that is totally fair by me. If out of state, I'd be happy to ship, but it will 100% be done through a local bike shop and I'll just put you in touch and they can take it from there. It will be somewhat pricey to ship but it'll make it safe.
