Soft, pure white double blooms up to 4" across are Hibiscus-shaped and decorated with a lacy center . The lovely lacy center of the blooms does more than create a billowy look. They'll shine in the moonlight, and keep you cool in the height of summer. The color is a wonderful white that doesn't turn yellow. Their relaxing, romantic effect is only heightened by the healthy, dark green foliage. Mature Height 8 to 12 feet Mature Width 4 to 6 Feet WideZones 5 - 9 Medicinal use of Rose Of Sharon: The leaves are diuretic, expectorant and stomachic. A decoction of the flowers is diuretic, ophthalmic and stomachic. It is also used in the treatment of itch and other skin diseases, dizziness and bloody stools accompanied by much gas. The bark contains several medically active constituents, including mucilage, carotenoids, sesquiterpenes and anthocyanidins. A decoction of the root bark is antiphlogistic, demulcent, emollient, febrifuge, haemostatic and vermifuge.
