Description: ACE CANNON HIS ALTO SAX "TUFF”SAX 1962 HI RECORDS HL 12007 MONO American tenor and alto saxophonist. Inducted into both the Rock and Soul Hall of Fame and the Rockabilly Hall of Fame in 2000.Born: May 5, 1934 in Grenada, Mississippi Died: December 6, 2018 in Calhoun City, MississippiPerhaps best known as a one-time member of Bill Black's Combo, saxophonist Ace Cannon began his solo career with a major hit first time out, with 'Tuff' becoming a Top Twenty pop and Top Ten R&B hit in 1961, quickly followed by further success with 'Blues (Stay Away From Me)'. In the wake of this success his record label Hi Records assembled the album Tuff Sax, which would prove to be another hit, making the Top Thirty in it's own right. While this would prove to be the pinnacle of Ace's chart career, he has continued to be a major and popular figure on the music scene and is still touring and performing into his eighties, a remarkable show of longevity. These records are from a 60+ year-old private collection, 1950’s through1990’s. Please browse my other offerings regularly as I will be posting about 1,000 Lps and 45s in the coming months. ALL ARE ORIGINAL RECORDS I PURCHASED AT THE TIME OF THEIR RELEASE. They may have minor wear or small defects as expected. Any major defects such as warps or scratches are noted. These offerings have not been professionally cleaned (ultrasonic or electrosonic). To liquidate this collection, I am pricing the records VERY CHEAP!I make no representation as to how the record or cover will grade. ANY GRADING IN MY LISTINGS IS JUST MY UNPROFESSIONAL OPINION. I would conservatively estimate at least a “G" grade for the record itself and “G” grade for the cover but may be better – you will have to judge for yourself. All items are priced very low.Records are not in cases but are safely packed in sturdy mailers, and quickly mailed USPS as soon as payment is received.I am committed to making this a great bargain purchase experience for you anyway I can.
