I could not find a single scratch on the cartridge! The cartridge has roughly 30 hours of play time, so this baby still has plenty of life left The 315 is a warm & mellow sounding cartridge – very dynamic – separation is most excellent - nice tight natural sounding bass [not boomy at all] – Highs are very crisp yet never sounding metallic or artificial. The sound stage is really where this cartridge shines. While listening with one’s eyes closed, you actually hear not only stereo but a distinct three dimensional sound stage where the musicians and singers are positioned as in a concert.
