It is compatible with American Flyer trains with knuckle couplers. The cars are being sold on behalf of the CVSGA and are in limited numbers with only 47 done with this road number having high rail wheels and American Flyer compatible couplers. About the Bessemer & Lake Erie RailroadThe Bessemer & Lake Erie is a Class II railroad that operates in Northeast Ohio and Western Pennsylvania. Founded by Andrew Carnegie in 1897, the railroad’s primary function was to haul iron ore from its Conneaut, Ohio Lake Erie port to the steel mills he owned in Western Pennsylvania. The return trip to Conneaut saw coal being hauled from Western Pennsylvania for the steel mills in Northeast Ohio. While the fleet of freight cars consisted mainly of hopper cars, the railroad did have a fleet of 40 and 50 foot box cars.
