Description: This 1869 edition of "The Bird" comes in good to very good condition, with fully intact binding, edge wear to the leather covers and spine, blunted cover corners, writing in ink on the front fly leaf and following page, and minor yellowing to the inside pages (see pictures). The book was written by Jules Michelet (and translated to English). It is a study of birds, though more literary than scientific. It has an ornately finished green leather cover, with gilt trim and raised bars on the spine. Its pages are embellished with 210 illustrations by Giacomelli. It was published by T.
