Description: Antique Chelsea Tithe Pig Group This lovely figure was most likely produced by Chelsea in the late 18th Century. Incised with an "11" and "8" to the bottom and painter's mark. This early Tithe pig groups is fashioned after Louis Boitard's 1750s engraving of "tithing" the 10th child and pig. Gold Anchor Mark to back which dates it to 18th Century. 9"H X 7"W. Condition: Relatively good condition, damage to flowers and bocage, chip to parson's hat, otherwise minor imperfections to be expected.
