Description: This is a genuine antique book, literally a piece of history. If it were sentient, it could tell of over a hundred years full of lives it has touched and hands it has passed through. Every year, more of these irreplaceable treasures are lost-- to fires, floods, etc., or simple carelessness. It is my hope to rescue as many as possible and help them find homes where they will be cherished and passed on to future generations. Allof my antique leather books are treated with Cellugel (which is safe for all book materials) to preserve the leather and inhibit deterioration from red rot. The leather has pre-existing scars and wear. All leather books ship carefully packed in a box. There is no date printed inside, but according to research, Charles Courtier & Sons published this title in 1872. The appearance of this book is consistent with that date. Small partially erased notations inside. The small knob on the clasp is slightly bent (see photos.) This causes the book to stand slightly off-balance. It could probably be easily straightened by someone skilled in such things, which is not me. No tears or odors. All photos depict the actual book listed; please examine them carefully.
