Description: Antique Edge Malkin & Co E. M. & Co Cream CHANG Teapot Chinoiserie Transferware Circa 1871-1890 Antique teapot made by Edge Malkin (E.M. & Co.) in the cream Chang pattern. Polychrome chinoiserie style transferware from the aesthetic movement. Featuring an oriental garden scene. Manufacturer's mark stamped on the base. Made in Burslem, England. Condition: Teapot's spout has been cracked and repaired (pics #5-6). There is crazing throughout the teapot from age but hard to notice as there is no staining. The small chip inside the lid's ring appears natural from the making as it is under the glaze (pic #10). The small pottery stress line by the spout is also a natural flaw from production (pic #11). No other noted damage. The colors on the transferware look beautiful. If there are any other minor flaws such as glaze pops, pottery or pattern imperfections etc. they would be natural from production. Comes as is/shown/made. Approximate measurements: 8-3/4" wide from handle to spout, 6-1/8" tall (not including lid), 6-3/8" tall to the top of the lid's finial.
