Description: This set of four vials is a unique find for perfume collectors. The 3 American bottle were made in Czechoslovakia (1918+) and imported to America for the American perfumeries. One of the vials in this auction contained Langlois which was first developed in America in 1916 and by 1920 was in full production.The second vial is from Cappi Perfume, and created in America for the specific purpose of challenging France's domination of the perfume market in America. To assist in the endeavor for a number of years tarrif were placed on French perfume imports.In their efforts to compete and to capture the consumer market, perfumeries began ordering the appealing multi colored hand made Checkoslovokian containers to attract American women's eyes.In this group too is an example of France's1927 Arpege Extract. Arpege Extract was designed especially for Jeanne Lanvin, which made a splash when it was presented to her musician daughter Marie Blanchard on her 30th birthday. The fourth vial is without its label therefore, outside its being Czechoslovakian produced, nothing else can be known except it's Victorian nouveau age. Their small sizes makes them perfect for display in a vanity or perfume collection. The intricate design and their still intact labels adds to their charm and collectability.
