This Wagner company beer bottle is from the Wagner Manufacturing Co. which also had a brewery. John renamed the brewery John Wagner Brewing when he bought the brewery from his brother in 1876. After Johns death in 1881, the brewery went to his 3 sons who renamed the brewery the John Wagner Sons Brewing Co. (from the Shelby County Historical Society). The bottle has the embossed markings on the very base of the bottle "17N" several spaces then "7". I'm assuming these are the marks of the actual bottle maker.
