Description: Hand Made by a Zuni Master Carver. This Pre-1930's Coral Jaclas necklace features Large and Natural, Hand Cut Mediterranean Coral Beads, intersperced with large, natural turquoise nuggets. Coral of this quality had been shipped in to the Zuni Pueblo by the 1920's and was given to only the most expert of Zuni Carvers to Work with. These are NOT "Small" Coral beads, but rather large, and heavy Master Beads from the Top Tier of the whole collection. This was likely made for and worn by a Zuni Bow Priest. The Jaclas beads are of the finest natural turquoise, likely the Tiffany or Cerillos mine. The beads are extremely fine and perfectly hand cut. *From the Eva Cain Estate*. Eva was the sister of CG WALLACE and would work the counters of the Trading Post when she visited during the summers. CG WALLACE jewelry is known for the Famous 1975 Sothebys auction, but what most people do not realize, is that the finest of all CG Wallace pieces were actually handed down to beloved Wallace family members, and much of that remains in their private collections to this day.
