The genius of The Goldberg Variations is based on the fact that the work operates in it's own universe, and each of the new interpretations or arrangements reveals something different here. The version for a string trio was developed in 1984 by a well-known Russian violinist Dmitry Sitkovetsky, working, as he admitted, under a strong influence of Glenn Gould's famous interpretation.
