Description: RARE, VERY EARLY HORN CUP, c.1770-1790 DESCRIPTION: Particularly nice colonial period cup made of a cow horn. Similar to their use in making powder horns during that period. This one is very unusual.....nicely made, with nice color and swirls and pattern. EVEN HAS A BIT OF A CURVE TO IT.Cup measures about 3 1/2" high, and about 1 3/4" diameter at the open top. Nice slight curve in the cup from the original horn, which is cool!!This has all the attributes, design, style, patina, and look of a Revolutionary War / colonial period cow horn as shown. Has a particularly nice look to it, for addition to a variety of collections or displays. Excellent condition overall. An unusual item, from an early Massachusetts estate.
