Description: THANKS FOR CHECKING OUT MY AUCTION. PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE DESCRIPTION AND MY POLICIES BEFORE PLACING YOUR BID.Check out my other items!Be sure to add me to your favorites list! This listing is for a Buescher Aristocrat (model number S-40) tenor saxophone. The serial number is 394,xxx, which indicates a c.1963 production date. This was just shortly after Buescher was bought out by Selmer USA. This horn is in overall very good playing condition. I won't say that it is in 100% optimum playing condition, because a leak light inspection reveals some minor hairline leaks, but most players will find this more than acceptable as is (especially for a horn at this price point). Short of doing a full repad, this is about as good as you're likely to get it. The pads are a mixed bag of rivet only and plastic button resonator styles. They are in overall good condition. Some of them have some staining, but the leather is still soft/supple. Physically and cosmetically speaking, this sax is in average to slightly above average condition for its age. The body is straight, and the neck has not been pulled down. There has been some dent work done on the bow, and some minor dings, pings, and nicks remain on the bow and bell. There are a couple very slightly pushed in key-guard feet. There are some minor pings on the neck, as well as a couple spots where it looks like some small dings were pushed out. To be honest, whoever did this didn't do the best job, as they left the metal a little lumpy. It probably could be improved upon by a more skilled technician, but it isn't really adversely affecting playability, so that is by no means necessary. The rim of the bell looks like it was bent down slightly and repaired, resulting in some lacquer loss, but it is otherwise a very good repair. The key-work is operating as it should. All keys are moving freely and rebounding properly when released. The rollers are all turning. The lacquer is almost fully intact, with normal light scratching/scuffing. Overall, this horn looks very good for its age. This horn comes in a DEG brand gig bag. It has an interesting sheep's wool type interior...I've never seen that in a gig bag before. It is in very good condition with minimal wear and tear. It is clean and odor free inside. There is no mouthpiece, nor any other accessories with this horn. I will include an end plug though. Please feel free to email me with any questions. Thanks again for looking!
