Description: Ceremonial Shield King Henry II of France 1870 Cast Iron? or bronze?. This is definitely an older piece. However, I’m only speculating about the 1870 date. I really don’t know for sure. I’m pretty sure though that that badge on the backside means something. It’s a makers mark however, I haven’t been able to find any info as I have searched a few times, and no results. anyways, this is a great looking piece. There are some small drill holes as well as another puncture hole which I have photographed. It has some issues with the finish as shown in the photos. There’s metal corrosion and/or missing finish in the way of streaks down the front of the shield. Overall a great looking piece for a man cave. It’s possible this piece has significance, considering the makers mark. Whereas none of the other ones on google have a similar mark.
