Description: Delaware and Hudson: The history of an important railroad whose antecedent was a canal network to transport coal. By Jim Shaughnessy, Howell-North Books (Dec, 1968) hardcover with DJ (11x9”) 476 pgs, b&w ils/photos and decorative endpapers. Tremendous amount of information about the railroad and its history. Great pictures, and check out the endpaper graphic. Detailed tables describe locomotives used through the years, and there's an extensive index. Binding tight and pages clean with some slight overall age yellowing. Most noticeable demerit is the significant bump on the front lower corner of the cover (see last pic), which didn't carry through to the text block. The hardcover shows some age discoloration overall (last pic). DJ shows edge tears and a curl, some staining, and evidence of a fold at the front, but it's all there. You can see a lot about the DJ condition in the pics of the front and back and spine of the book. Please see the pictures which provide more information about this book and the condition of this copy. ► We are thinning contents of our smoke-free, pet-free home. Books will be listed, plus toys including CCG and trading cards, fabric/wallpaper sample books, jigsaw puzzles, jewelry, household items and maybe some of my fishing and workshop stuff.
