Our regular price for this graphic is $289 DON QUIJOTE (Under the Cuban Sun) is a limited-edition screen-printed drawing by award-winning Cuban cartoonist, journalist and caricaturist René de la Nuez (1937-2015). Nuez created this drawing in 2007 but it was screen-printed in Havana only after his death in 2015. The drawing is numbered; a mere 25 copies exist in this edition, which carries the dry stamp of the Havana workshop where it was screen printed. René de la Nuez is one the most renowned Cuban cartoonists of the last half century. His work appeared regularly in the Cuban national newspaper GRANMA, as well as in many Cuban magazines and books. His work could be biting, at times, but it was often charmingly simple. DON QUIJOTE is a classic example. This hard-to-find graphic was screen-printed on cartolina (a paper heavier than the type used for many other Cuban posters) in the prestigious Rene Portocarrero workshop in Havana.
