Description: DUNHILL SHELL (1983) 52621 Bent Billiard Swan's Neck GROUP 5 English Estate Pipe A superb large bent billiard with deep sandblasting and very elegant saddle mouthpiece with swan's neck contours by Dunhill for the Shell Briar series, made in 1983. Big, Group 5, bowl. The pipe is in near mint condition on 95% of its surface including the bowl (which has thick walls), with only remark a tiny scratch at the edge of the stem. On the bowl's front side close to the rim we observe some intense scratches and a localized dent on the rim (which appears to be a scratch and not a burn). The remaining part of the rim is in near mint condition. Still, the bowl walls remain thick even on the area where the scratches are, and the pipe smokes excellently (we could not resist the temptation to test it, a thing we do not usually do with the estate pipes we sell). Our overall grading of the pipe would be 'near mint' for functionality and 'very good' for aesthetics.
