Description: Early 20th Century Capodimonte Hand painted Oval Floral Cherubs Centerpiece READ. A very striking, must have centerpiece from Capodimonte. Seven cherubs, or Putti, adorn this floral bowl. Each one has a detailed face with soft features. The color, shape and expression in their eyes give this piece life. They all appear to be supporting the bowl in the air. Delicate roses and other flowers surround the bowl. Each are hand painted in different colors and shades which add depth and beauty. The centerpiece weighs 7 pounds. Itβs measurements are approximately 13β in length by 8β high and 8 1/4β wide. This centerpiece is a very busy piece and the eye tends to move from detail to detail, which helps disguise some of its issues. There are several chips, most of which are on the flowers. I count roughly a dozen. The worst of which is on the bottom base. It looks as if someone attempted to paint it at some point. I took pictures of the chips for you to view. There are two chips on the cherubs. Both involve a missing finger. The middle cherub along the top is missing an index finger. The cherub on the far right is missing a pinky. The piece is very rare and like I mentioned, very busy. Most of these issues are minor and are easily Missed. The most noticeable is that bottom flower. Please view the pictures carefully. You will see the Capodimonte mark as well. This will be packed extremely well. Thanks for looking.
