EVETTE & SCHAEFFER WOOD CLARINET - BUFFET CRAMPON

Check out my other items!Be sure to add me to your favorites list!This listing is for a vintage Evette & Schaeffer (Buffet Crampon) Bb soprano clarinet. It is a 'K-series' E&S. This was the precursor to the E13 model. These were made at the main Buffet factory in France, not in Germany by Schreiber, or by Malerne. The serial number K4451 (matching on both joints) indicates a c.1952 production date.This instrument is being sold as is for repair/restoration. It will require a full overhaul to be made playable. Please read on for additional details about its condition. This instrument is in very good physical condition. I don't see any cracks, or past crack repairs. There are no chips to the tenons or tone holes. The bell flare and tenon rings are all tight. All of the keys are moving freely and rebounding properly when released. The nickel finish has dulled with age but would buff back to a nice luster if you so desired. As mentioned above, the pads need to be replaced. It will also need new corks, and a good cleaning/oiling of the wood.This instrument comes in a non-original vintage case. It has a cool faux crocodile exterior covering. The exterior is in good condition except that the covering for the handle is missing. The interior shows normal wear and tear, and it smells a bit musty.
