Description: Fenton or Northwood Low Profile Cupped Bowl Celeste Blue Stretch Iridized Glass Excellent Condition Approximate Dimensions: 7" (Rim Diameter) x 1 1/2" (H) x 2 7/8" (Base Diameter) Probably Made by the Harry C. Northwood Glass Company Wheeling, West Virginia circa early 1920s This is a handsome, shallow antique (1920s) blue stretch glass bowl with well-stated stretch marks. This unmarked piece was likely made by Northwood, or perhaps by Fenton, ca. 1920s-1930s . See Madeley and Shetlar's (1998) American Iridescent Stretch Glass . Condition. This bowl is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or restorations... no chiggers or flea bites on rim. There are some of the usual minor "straw marks" (shearing tool marks) from hand manufacturing, and internal air bubbles which are also commonly associated with the hand manufacturing of old carnival and opalescent glass. The "onion skin" stretch is strong and the iridescence is excellent with plenty of pink and turqouise. ..very pretty and very functional!
