Description: This is a matted antique engraving from Frank Leslie's Illustrated Newspaper, a weekly newspaper published in 1884. The prints in this series have text on the reverse, and are printed on what is called rag paper, an antique paper that is stronger and far more durable than the newspaper material we use today.TITLE: NEW YORK CITY -- THE CHRYSANTHEMUM SHOW OF THE NEW YORK HORTICULTURAL SHOW AT HORTICULTURAL HALL, NOV. 5th (See pictures for smaller text) ARTIST: NOT IDENTIFIED CONDITION: EXCELLENT-- The prints in this series are clear, clean, bright. No creasing or tears. A really nice image. Excellent definition. Clear sharp lines, and wide margins. This print is about 140 years old and guaranteed to be original. It is an authentic old print from the aforementioned newspaper and NOT A MODERN REPRODUCTION.The visible part of the print, including the white border (if any) is about 8 1/2" x 9 1/2". Matted the print measures 11" x 14". This is a standard size matte that will fit into a standard size frame.ALL OF OUR MATTED PRINTS ARE WRAPPED IN A CLEAR CELLOPHANE ENVELOPE THAT PROTECTS THE PRINT DURING SHIPPING AND IS PERFECT FOR GIFT GIVING.
