Description: Franciscan Sea Sculpture "Sand Dollar" - Dinner Plate - 10 5/8 inches I have 2 - Selling individually - Both are pictured. $10 ea I don't know a lot about this pattern of Franciscan Ware. I happened upon it at an Estate Sale that I was visiting to pick up a different pattern of Franciscan. When I asked about the pattern I was there to see, I was taken to these dishes. I ended up getting both sets!! The problem with these dishes is they make me wish I had a beach house. So, back to business.... I know that this pattern was introduced in 1978. A new innovative clay had been developed for NASA and the Space Shuttle program that was adapted for the Sculpture Series of Franciscan Ware. This pattern is one of the patterns that fell victim to Franciscan Ware being purchased by Wedgewood and moved to England in 1983.
