Description: GIBSON J 40 ACOUSTIC GUITAR 1970 WITH CASE NICE CONDITION. From my info this is a 1970, serial A 500096. It has made in USA under it that was used from 1970 on but the serial number points to 1969. Anyhow its in that area. Normal scuffs from use see photos overall nice shape. The case is nice a small vinyl tear as shown. The truss rod cover is missing. I adjusted the rod a bit , new buyer can put action whereever he wants it. There is a very small crack on the front to right of neck to sound hole as shown it looks to be epoxied at some point. (Photo 3) About 1/2" long as shown . Look at the photos, bumps and bruises as it should be for a 50 plus year old guitar. The molding that goes around the entire guitar body has some deterioration of the gloss on top of that molding ( typical I have two others just like it same thing happened), but does not affect the constuction.
