The author tells us in detail of what he saw and experienced there, with numerous illustrations showing how the men lived and what they used. Hardback book in Very Good condition. Book is bright, clean, tightly bound, and the pages are fresh, with no writing; apparently unread; pages 346-47 have a tan stain around the edges. Cover is glossy, with bumped corners and some wear at spine ends; top spine edge has lost a few threads for about ¾ inch; back is a little darkened near the long edge and has a two small rubbed places. Gilt lettering gleams. 5 ½ x 8 inches, 471 pages including Appendix. [22222-2210]
