In zones 9-11, it is an evergreen perennial that can grow up to 8-12 feet tall and 5-10 feet wide. In colder climates where it grows as an annual, Patens can reach 4 feet tall and 2 feet wide in just one season. Scarlet Bush thrives in full sun with moderate water and high heat. It attracts pollinators, making it ideal for borders, containers, hedges, and mass plantings.
