A beautiful piece of Curly Maple that even the detailed photos can’t do it justice as it's extremely striking with all of the colors being displayed. Curly Maple is beautiful and has colorful and curly figure. This is also a piece that is even more stunning in person. The Salad Bowl is suitable for all food use. It was finished with a product consisting of Carnauba and Bees Wax and Walnut Oil. Care instructions will be shipped with the bowl. This item has a Glossy finish that will be replaced with a Satin finish as my finish wears away and is replaced by your own. This bowl was all hand turned from stunning CURLY MAPLE. The curly figure in the wood is the best that you could ever hope to see, especially in a Salad Bowl. Even though this bowl was finished to be a salad bowl I put a high gloss finish on it. With use this finish will be worn away. As you apply your own oil or protection it will then take on a Satin finish that you will maintain. You will receive use and care instructions with your purchase as well as a sample of the Walnut Oil that I recommend maintaining the bowl with. It should both be reapplied periodically to keep your bowl looking nice as well as safe for food. You will be shipped the exact item shown in the photos and each piece I make is signed and dated on the bottom. I have been a woodworker for over 20 years, making everything from complete custom cabinetry, to bowls, boxes, and pens on the lathe.
