Description: Hey now!!! You are looking at the quintessential piece of Howard Stern memorabilia. If you are a Howard Stern fan then you know exactly what you are looking at. Since I have not missed 1 minute of his show in the last 25 years, I would consider myself his #1 fan (sorry Bobo). This is the Fartman costume owned and worn by King of all Media Howard Stern. This Fartman costume was worn by Howard Stern at the 1992 MTV Video Music Awards. Howard famously flew down to the stage from the rafters in this costume to present best metal and hard rock video to Metallica. Howard presented alongside the late Luke Perry. Fartman was the title character in a movie that Stern planned on making, but never did. Nevertheless, the MTV appearance in this costume consistently ranks at or near the top of all-time outrageous TV moments. This custom-made eight-piece ensemble is the quintessential piece of Howard Stern memorabilia. The outfit consists of prescription Fartman sunglasses (fitted with Howard's prescription lenses), Fartman cropped long sleeve top, cape, gloves, pants with exposed rear end, codpiece, leather boots, heavy-duty undergarment that the pulleys attached to, and an "OK who farted?" T-shirt. The outfit is in fair to good condition. It has definite wear and tear due to all of the action it endured. The synthetic suit was made to resemble a new age "superhero". The areas of the armpits, crotch, buttocks, etc. have been painted shades of brown and green to match the Fartman "motif". There are small rips and tears in various locations and on certain seems. I would not recommend wearing this costume before refastening the large logo unto the chest. But it is suitable for display on a mannequin. Parts of the logo have damage. Some of the logo has begun to separate from the shirt due to the weight of the logo. It could easily be refastened tightly but I chose to leave it untouched. The logo across the front of the shirt was fastened with some sort of an adhesive and wiring. The adhesive and some of the wiring has began to give way. As a high-end memorabilia collector I will tell you that it is better to leave the piece untouched. The Fartman logo has wiring and a battery pack attached. The last time I tried to light up the "F" in the logo, it worked. Due to the fragility of the electronics I am not guaranteeing it will work for you. I currently have the costume displayed on a tall muscular mannequin (Or as George Takei would say "Tall mannequin with musculature"). It really makes the outfit look fuller and much cooler. I am willing to give you the mannequin for free if you pick the piece up in person in Columbus, Ohio. If you want the outfit shipped then the mannequin will not be included. Due to the price I would rather you pick it up in person. There are thousands of photos of Howard in this outfit. It is without a doubt the number one piece of Stern memorabilia in existence. Howard still refers to Fartman at least once or twice a week on his show. Howard Stern correspondent Wolfie actually interviewed me about this outfit in 2023. Howard wore this complete ensemble on the red carpet and at the 1992 MTV Video Music Awards back when millions of people still watched TV for culturally defining moments. This would look great in your man cave or office. Maybe one of Howard's celebrity super fans would be interested in it? This is a Smithsonian Museum kind of item! Costume was obtained directly from Howard Stern. Outfit comes with a custom made aluminum plaque for display and Certificate of Authenticity from PropStore Auction House. There are absolutely no returns on this item for obvious reasons. You are more than welcome to come and look at it in person prior to purchase. Here is a more in depth look at the costume itself....... Fartman’s (Howard Stern) custom-made superhero costume from the 1992 MTV Video Music Awards is an ensemble that consists of sunglasses, a dimensional light-up chest logo, a uniform top with attached cape and emblem, a T-shirt, leggings with attached codpiece, gauntlets, and boots. The custom-made sunglasses are orange and yellow resin and come with the original leather case. The lighting device is carpet-lined and motorized. The uniform top features the character name appearing across the chest in large, urethane, copper-colored lettering. It’s cropped in front to reveal the abdomen, and it attaches to leggings in back with snaps. There are three pockets in the back for the battery pack and electronic components for the light-up letter ‘F’. The attached cape is waist length and features a shield shaped winged logo on back with an ivory iridescent ‘F’. The leggings have an attached copper colored, heavily padded and oversized codpiece with thong back and two large oval cutouts in back to reveal each buttock cheek. The cutouts and waistband are edged with padded gold trim. The saffron color spandex on the top and leggings has been extensively hand-painted allover with brown paint, perhaps in homage to Fartman’s fabled ability to propel himself by his own flatulence. The ivory T-shirt reads ‘OK, Who Farted?’ and has intended holes on front. Rounding out the ensemble are matching bronze leather gauntlets with faux bronze electronic detailing at the cuffs and painted copper leather boots with matching wing details. Costume reportedly cost $10,000 to make in 1992. Trust me as I have a 100% feedback rating! All items come from my smoke and pet free home!
