Description: Hand signed and numbered (80/325) serigraph by renowned artist Itzchak Tarkay. This one is titled "Saturday at the Market" and I haven't seen it for sale before. Personally I think this is one of Tarkay's most dynamic and desirable prints - with a group of women busy at a vibrant, colorful market. It would make a great display piece or collectable, as his art tends to appreciate in value, and compliments his more laconic prints of women lounging or sitting. It's signed and printed on paper, nicely matted and professionally framed. Print is 20x22 inches, framed size 27x28 inches. Happy to share more pictures or details. Artist's Bio: Itzchak Tarkay was an Israeli artist. Tarkay was born in 1935 in Subotica, on the Yugoslav-Hungarian border. In 1944, at the age of 9, Tarkay and his family were sent to the Mauthausen Concentration Camp, until Allied liberation freed them a year later. His family immigrated to Israel where Tarkay studied at the Becalel Academy of Art and Design. As well as being an acrylic painter and watercolorist, Tarkay was a master graphic artist and his rich tapestry of form and color was achieved through the use of the serigraph. In his serigraphs, many colors are laid over one another and used to create texture and transparency. He is considered one of the most influential artists of the early 21st century. Tarkay died on June 3, 2012 in Detroit, MI.
