It is an amazing, absolutely fabulous pedal. Most of you know who and what JHS Pedals are. They just make great effect pedals with attention to detail, using quality parts. JHS has some original designs, but they excel at reproducing vintage classic effects adding some modern touches. There Overdrive Preamp is an example of that tip of the hat to the past. The controls for the unit are classically simple. Two knobs, a slider, and an on/off footswitch. The slider providing the exciting variation of clipping sound, with the down position representing the #75 unit with germanium diodes, and the up position representing the slightly later clipping variant with silicon diodes. So, lots of tones available for you. You won't be disappointed. Way too much to explain so pleases see last paragraph for more details. I recently purchased this pedal, NEW, along with other pedals, from a music store that was going out of business. I already own one, so out the door this one goes. I have played this pedal twice, last time in my home studio, just prior to listing it. The pedal functions properly, sounds great. Please do not bid unless you are willing to use that service. Here is some additional information: The JHS Overdrive Preamp is a meticulous re-creation of Josh's #75. It boasts the same Gain and Level controls. The Gain knob pushes the pedal's op-amp into hard clipping, while the Level knob adjusts your overall output. Josh modified the Overdrive Preamp's Level control from the original, netting you much more output volume. The JHS pedal also includes a slider switch that toggles a completely different clipping arrangement based on a second early "big box" stomp Josh had acquired. The guitarists here at Sweetwater have found the JHS Overdrive Preamp to be a close match to the vintage gray 250-style pedals we've played through; albeit, with more gain on tap and a slightly different low-midrange voicing.
