Description: Family Bible of John E. Richtmyer (1798-1876) and his wife Margarett (1800-1887) This leather covered Bible was originally owned by John and Margarett Richtmyer of Gilboa, New York. The family Bible was published in 1854 by the American Bible Society of New York. It measures approximately 10 1/2" x 8" x 3 1/4". The Bible is poor to fair condition and is "as found." The front board is detached but present. The leather spine is attached but chipped. The textblock is largely intact but a page by page inventory has not been conducted by the seller. The genealogy pages are loose but present and are found between the Old and New Testaments. Many of the entries predate the 1854 publishing date of the Bible with the earliest entry chronicling the birth of John Richtmyer. As shown in the photos, the Bible has a number of items of genealogical interest. These are all included in this listing. I am not a professional book appraiser.
