Description: Large & Impressive Antique Original VELLUM 1842 Queen Victoria Period INDENTURE for the CONVEYANCE for a piece of Ground & Two Messuages in Pilcroft Closes, St. Mary's, Bedford. With its Original Seals/Stamps, Dated 20th May 1842. A large & in superb condition for its age Queen Victoria period Indenture, for the above mentioned Conveyance between Mess" Richard Smith & Joseph Browne to Mr Francis Kilsby, for the sum of £42. Interestingly some of the occupations of the people mentioned & involved are :- Butcher, Wine merchant & Milkman. It has its 3 original red wax seals still intact to the base next to the signatures, an embossed pale blue stamps/seals attached to the front for 'ONE POUND' & 'FIFTEEN SHILLINGS' with a black circular 'Crowned' ink stamp below them for 'HUNTINGDON. 1.12.41.' & one Queen Victoria paper stamp attached to the rear (see photos for more on these details & its condition). The Indenture has some age browning, slight creases along the fold lines, the hand written calligraphy script is still very clear for its age & readable (even though is pretty difficult to read due to the old style of the writing !), again some slight age browning to the rear side, but overall the indenture is in GC+ to VGC for its age of 180 years. Large in size at 30-1/2" (775mm) x 23-1/2" (596mm). I have & will be listing many more of these antique Indentures, with most dating from the 1800's, but some are from the 1700's, as well as maritime books from my quite large collection over the coming months, many being rare & 1st editions, so please look for out for them & the many other rare & interesting items including militaria, vintage maps/charts etc. Postage costs are as listed in the postal section of the listing. Will post worldwide. Prefer U.K. cheque or Postal Order, but do accept Paypal for credit cards etc. ...NO RESERVE...
