Description: This unusual Turkmen (Turkoman) necklace has a huge distinctive pendant that was handcrafted during the early to mid-1900's for the Ersari sub-tribe of Turkmenistan in Central Asia. More measurements are listed below at the end of this description. The pendant's shape is that of an adamlyk - or stylized female form that celebrates femininity. It was sturdily handmade and does not bend. Wonderful charm-dangles hang below, swaying freely with movement. There is a dark and rich age-patina, with mild wear-patterns. Please note that age-patina reflects the light when photographed, so items look brighter in images than they really are. The neck-cord is twine, added more recently with new beads. The pendant, however, is very old.
