Description: The ebay item you are bidding on is a Mike Eruzione Men's Hockey USA Olympic GOLD Medal Team (Who Beat Russia in the 1980 Olympic Games) Champion 1983 Topps Card - History's Greatest Olympians / Olympic Champions Collectible Trading Card.After rising up the ranks as one of the country’s top amateur boxers, “Smokin” Joe Frazier competed at the Olympic Games Tokyo 1964, bringing home the gold medal in the heavyweight division. Turning pro the following year, Frazier compiled a 32-4-1 recording during his career, fighting in some of the largest bouts of his era. He reigned as undisputed heavyweight champions from 1970-73, defeating Muhammad Ali by unanimous decision in the Fight of the Century in 1971. He faced Ali again during the 1975 Thrilla in Manila, a legendary fight and Frazier’s last title challenge. He retired from professional boxing in 1976, and again after a single fight in 1981. Following his retirement, Frazier was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame. He passed away from liver cancer at age 67 in 2011. This 99-card boxed set was manufactured under license from the Los Angeles Olympic Organizing Committee. (Sporting a slightly different card design, the 1984 M and M's Olympic Heroes is a subset of this set.) Though widely known to have been produced by Topps, this company name appears nowhere on the cards. On a white card face, the fronts feature either color or black-and-white photos framed by a white inner border and a yellow outer border. The player's name appears in red print across the bottom of the front. On a red panel, the backs carry a headline and news brief. The cards are numbered on the upper left corner.
