Description: This listing is for a 9-club set of antique vintage hickory shafted clubs from the 1920's which were made in Scotland. Included are 7 irons, an aluminum alloy putter and two woods. Names on the irons include Tom Stewart of St Andrews Scotland, George Nicoll of Leven Fife Scotland and William Gibson (James Braid signature) of Kinghorn Scotland. The putter was made by Standard Golf of Sunderland England. The two woods include one made by Alex Aitken of Gullane Scotland and one made by of Hugh Dewar of Troon Scotland. Some great names and courses in this set. The clubs are in very good display condition. They are clean and not all rusted or cracked. The grips are all long leather wraps that have been waxed and whipped. Great for display. The bag is an all-leather stove pipe type that does not collapse and will stand up on its own. It is old and does show some dust, dirt and deterioration to the leather. There is a hole in the leather on the back side. The handle and strap are still intact which is unusual. You have to be careful not to pick the bag up by the handle or strap when fully loaded with clubs as they might break. Shipping in the US is calculated for this item and based on a 17-pound 48x9x9 box. The closer you are to me in NC (27712 zip) the less shipping will be. This is the way the carriers work and unfortunately shipping has become more expensive recently. On top of that, most buyers don't realize that eBay takes almost 15% of what I receive as stated shipping (out of $10 I only receive $8.50). Because of the high value there is a handling fee.
