Description: Description: You are bidding on a great pottery Dove created by Carlos Villanueva. This bird is about 4 1/4" long x 3 1/2" high to the top of the tail. He is in mint condition without any chips, cracks or crazing. He's signed on the bottom Carlos Villanueva. In the early 1970's Carlos Villanueva Gonzalez started working with Ken Edwards and Jorge Wilmot in the Tlaquepaque / Tonala area of Mexico. His son Juan Carlos Villanueva started working with his father when he was 16 and Villanuave senior went out on his own. Villanueva senior developed a new technique (independent from the Wilmot Edwards collaborations) that he called glassy stoneware. Juan Carlos evolved and became an artist in his own right - his prize winning works can be found in the Ceramic Museum in Tlaquepaque, Jalisco and in the office of the Mayor in Tonala, Jalisco. Since the early to mid 1980's the pieces coming out of the family workshop are usually signed Carlos Villanueva or simply Villanueva.Shipping: I usually ship USPS and your box will arrive fully insured.
